The starting meeting of the “Active Citizenship in The New Homeland / ACT-NEW HOME” project was held on 16-17 June 2022 in Istanbul Salt Galata with the participation of the project partners)

The “Active Citizenship in the New Homeland” project is an innovative project in terms of bringing a new perspective and interpretation to the integration of asylum seekers and refugees in the country they live in, in the dimension of “Active Citizenship”. Active Citizenship is the ability of individuals to determine the problems of the city, country, and the world they live in, to struggle with them and to increase their quality of life, and to use their right to participate. The importance of active citizenship stems from the fact that individuals have the power and potential to create a better society by making a direct and positive contribution to the society they live in. With the project, it is aimed to develop the “Active Citizenship for Asylum Seekers and Refugees” e-learning module.
