Kadıköy Public Education Center started to organize adult education activities in 1935. The main purpose of adult education is to provide a second chance to those who have lost their access to education for various reasons, in order to ensure social justice and equal access to education.As an adult education institution,Kadıköy
PEC provides education services for disadvantaged groups (disabled people, probation officers,nursing homes,drug addicts,adults receiving treatmentin hospitals rehabilitation centers,asylum seekers/refugees/immigrants,etc)
Lifelong learning (LLL)is all the activities that aim to improve the knowledge,abilities and competencies of the individual throughout his/her life,individually or collectively.LLL is important for the development of the individual as a participatory member of the society and for increasing the quality of life.
Public Education Centers(PEC)organize free courses in vocational,social,economic,sportive and cultural fields for citizens of all ages,with different education,income,social status and cultural level,in line with their interests,desires,abilities and expectations,are the educational institutions with the easiest access in adult education.
“Educational Activities”and “Providing/Supporting Educational Activities”are the two main missions of PEC.Public
education centers carry out education activities 7 days a week for 12 months of the year with the principle of full-time-full
year.
